HONE Design and Fabrication is a technical design and CNC fabrication service intended to provide design to production consulting services as well as CNC part fabrication. Our goal is to take your designs from the realm of your imagination to the real world, whether that's making a piece of casework or designing parts and components for prototyping.

Our Services
General CNC Machining
Our machine is a 4'x8' CNC router. It is also equipped with an alcohol misting system for cooling the bits. This allows us to machine structural grade aluminum. This makes our machine very versatile. Are you looking to cut some panels for some custom casework? We can help you with that. Do you have plastic components that you need cut for a gadget you're making and FDM 3d printing just isn't strong enough? We've been there and can help. Did your coworker design a machined aluminum part that is way too large for your in-house milling machine? We have 4x8 feet of real estate.
Flip Machining
Flip milling or flip machining is a process by which one machines more than one side of a part. This requires cutting one side, then re-registering the part back to the table via a jig. It's somewhat more complex than simply cutting out parts and requires some discussion on design priorities.
Precision Parts
Every once and a while you get a part that requires an extreme level of detail or precision. While there are other types of machines better suited for this task, we may also be capable of meeting your needs. We'll slow the machine down, modify the tooling, and experiment with cut depths to make sure we are able to offer you the accuracy you desire.
3D Machining
In many fabrication processes a 2 directionally curved surface is a fabricator's nightmare, but we can shape materials to achieve a desired 3d form. Whether you're making a buck for thermoforming, have a topographic model that is too big for a 3d printer, or just happen to have a very complex part that needs to be custom shaped, we'll work with you to go over the finishing processes. step overs, tolerances, and design constraints to get you your desired part.
Unconventional Fabrication
Here at HONE Design and Fabrication we believe that creativity doesn't end with design. To have truly unique products it's important to explore the limits of your equipment. And so, generally speaking, we are happy to try any sort of unique operation. That could mean making new tools for the router, working out a method for mounting and remachining an existing part, or exploring new materials.

Drawing Production
Some projects require third party coordination. That could mean anything from coordinating pick points and power drops with a contractor, communicating a design idea with a town board, sending details to a third-party manufacturer, or just having a record of what was designed. HONE Design and Fabrication provides limited drawing production services upon request.
