Precision Parts

Just because our machine is large doesn't mean it isn't precise.  While there is some inaccuracy from factors like vibration and the length of the gantry, we are still able to achieve very precise machining operations.  This is often achieved by slowing down the machine, using smaller bits, and a much finer stepdown so that those smaller bits are not overstressed.

On occasion unique jigging solutions need to be explored to precisely locate the parts and reduce movement.  In the example below, the part was held in a jig, and a drill bit was used instead of a cnc bit because a 1/16" cnc bit long enough for the operation wasn't available.  Photos are of a test piece used to verify the process would work.
