Materials

Below is a short list of materials that we are able to work with.  If you have a project and don't see your material on the list, reach out.  Odds are we can machine it but would want to run a test to dial in feeds and speeds.

Wood:

Plywood

Hardwood

MDF

MDO

Partical Board

Plastics:

Acrylic

ABS

HDPE

Foam PVC

PVC

Delrin

ACM

Corian

Foam:

Extruded Polystyrene (XPS)- rigid insulation foam

High Density Urethane (HDU)

Aluminum:

General CNC Machining

CNC Machining (Computer Numeric Control) refers to any machining process using software or generative code to fabricate a part.  The difference between this and the 3D printers, that are becoming more accessible to DIYers and hobbyists, is that cnc routing is a subtractive fabrication process whereas 3D printing is additive.

This means that cnc routers are typically used as a replacement for traditional fabrication methods.  If you have some complex casework and don't want to cut out everything by hand, cnc milling might save you a bunch of time.  If you're trying to make signage, milling could save you hours of work with stencils and hand routers.

Milling parts out of sheet stock using 2 1/2D operations (operations where you are machining in stepped down levels like profiling and pocketing) is the most cost-effective service we provide due to the short run time and the ease of setup.
